Dodge

陳同佳一案，雖然犯罪地點在台灣，但是無論加害人或被害人，都是香港公民，港府實在不可逃避（dodge）責任。

動詞dodge主要有兩個意思。Dodge可以指「逃避、迴避」，故意避免討論或做某件不愉快的事情，可能是以狡猾或不誠實的方式逃避。例如，The Hong Kong government cannot dodge its responsibility in handling this murder case.（香港政府有不能迴避的責任去處理這宗謀殺案。）He dodged the payment of almost one hundred thousand in income tax and was sentenced to jail.（他逃避了將近十萬的薪俸稅，被判入獄。）

Dodge也可以指「躲閃、避開」，快速移動以避免被擊中。Dodge用作及物（transitive）或不及物（intransitive）動詞均可，即是後面不一定要有受詞（object）。例句︰He quickly dodged a storm of bullets as the solider tried to kill him.（當士兵試圖殺死他時，他迅速躲開了一連串子彈。）Instinctively, he dodged to avoid colliding with the deer.（他本能地躲開以避免與鹿相撞。）
