每年「香港小姐競選」的首輪面試都總會為觀眾帶來驚喜，雖然今次採取網上直播方式進行，不過部分參賽者質素仍然參差，跟照片中的她有些少落差。其中13號的盧海虹今年20歲，她直播時已經被網友指她似蝦頭楊詩敏，無論一舉手一投足都充滿喜劇細胞，連主持人陸浩明都問她會否有興趣做諧星。今年20歲的她揚言明年要考DSE，她解釋由於自己在內地修讀大學，不過決定來港定居後要追香港的學歷進度，於是明年將考DSE，她說：「我嘅夢想就係被人睇到我。」相當有自信。

3號的陳美濤是武俠小說的作家，亦擁有歷史系博士學位，不過她牙肉外露，網友認為她似「葉問」甄子丹。11號的許舒喬來自美國德州，網友留言指她外貌好似Bob林盛斌的太太，她直言沒有被這樣形容過。至於15號的陳慧欣上年曾經參選過香港小姐，打入50強，可惜最終未能入圍，決定今年再次挑戰，她穿著超性感低胸裙，但就不慎露出胸墊，認真失策。

參選者中，年紀最小的是19號的葉芷澄，她只有17歲，而年紀大的熟齡組分別有21號的模特兒鄺靜汶、22號的音樂老師吳秀明和23號的投資專家陳施夢。
