TVB劇集《陀槍師姐2021》(下稱《陀槍2021》) 一反常態，讓宣萱飾演一個懦弱、膽小兼無法用槍的「陀槍師姐」，相比之前的《陀槍》系列女主角陳三元（滕麗名飾）、朱素娥（關詠荷飾）等勇猛的表現，似乎失色不少。

《陀槍2021》第17集中，戴安娜（宣萱飾）與夠鐘Sir（趙永洪飾）調查多年前的珠寶械劫案時，夠鐘Sir與狂徒糾纏，身陷險境，戴安娜拔槍救人，但手震震，更被一名悍匪嚇得扔掉手槍 ; 幸得夠鐘Sir掙脫狂徒，開槍射擊，兩人才得救。之後戴安娜遭翻出多年前開槍誤中副車的片段，自此一直存有陰影，心魔影響下令她無法開槍！

其實TVB劇集也並非第一次出現無法開槍的警察角色，歷年來不少虛構人物均無法突破心理關口，甚至在生死關頭前仍開不了槍！

2007年的《學警出更》中，陳鍵鋒飾演一名聰明能幹的警察，但曾親眼目睹女友馬靄琳（薛凱琪飾）為救他而被開槍擊斃的場面，令其存有心理陰影，在面對兇手喪強（韋家雄飾）時無法開槍……

而2010年《刑警》中，胡定欣扮演的重案組警長，總是想起父母慘死的片段……有一次她執行職務時遇上生死關頭，無法扣下扳機、無法開槍自保！

陳法拉在2011年的《潛行狙擊》中曾開槍殺人，該殺人場面不斷在其腦海出現，創傷令她即使在標靶場練習都不能射中目標，聽到巨響時甚至會嚇到動彈不得。
