Action

巴黎一名11歲男孩，主動到塞納河打撈廢鐵，清理河裏的垃圾。一年半內，已打撈了約300輛單車、200輛滑板車，還有購物手推車、手槍等等。

巴黎河岸將展覽他打撈到的物品，鼓勵民眾以實際行動（actions）保護環境。

"Actions speak louder than words"（行動勝於空談），actions相對於words，指「實際行動」，尤其是指面對困難時所作出的行動。名詞action可以配搭形容詞immediate（即時的）、urgent（緊急的）、decisive（果斷的）、further（進一步的）等等。

例如，We need bold leadership and decisive action in a time of crisis.（在危機的時候，我們需要大膽的領導和果斷的行動。）No further action is needed.（毋須採取進一步行動。）

Action可以配搭動詞take（採取）、demand（要求）、call for（呼籲）、swing into（迅速採取）等等。例句︰The school must take action to protect students from bullying.（學校必須採取行動，保護學生免受欺凌。）

The firefighters swung into action to rescue the trapped youngsters.（消防員迅速行動，營救被困的年輕人。）
