Prioritise

盧森堡首相承諾優先考慮（prioritise）環境保護，政府為解決塞車及環境污染問題，日前宣布從明年夏天起公共交通費用全免，創全球先例。香港效法的可能性大概不大，因為公共交通已經非常擁擠。若果因為免費而導致使用率急升，實難以負荷。

動詞prioritise解「優先考慮、按優先順序處理」，決定甚麼事情最重要，然後優先處理。Prioritise用作及物（transitive）或不及物（intransitive）動詞也可，例句︰The Luxembourg government seeks to prioritise the environment and end its traffic congestion.（盧森堡政府尋求優先考慮環境，並解決交通擠塞問題。）Here's the best time-management advice I can give you: you need to prioritise.（這是我能給你最好的時間管理建議︰你需要分辨事情的輕重緩急。）

Prioritise的名詞是priority，常用give priority to something、something have priority over something等等。例句︰The school should give priority to poor students.（學校應優先考慮貧困學生。）Emergency vehicles have priority over all other vehicles when they are on duty.（緊急車輛在值班時優先於所有其他車輛。）
