中央政府銳意發展大灣區，將香港、澳門和廣東九個城市融合成經濟和創新的強盛大都市（economic and innovation powerhouse）。不過，政治矛盾、文化和工資差異卻令許多香港人卻步。

Powerhouse字面和原意指「發電所」，常引伸指「擁有某強大能量的人、物或組織」，用時加上形容詞便能指出擁有那方面的力量。例句︰Nuts and seeds are nutritional powerhouses. They contain everything needed to form new lives.（堅果和種子是營養廠房，它們包含了形成新生命所需的一切。）China and India are emerging economic powerhouses.（中國和印度是新興的經濟強國。）This university is an academic powerhouse and ranked top ten in the UK.（這所大學擁有頂尖學術，在英國排名前十。）

此外，也可以用「名詞/形容詞+ house」指「充滿某東西的空間或地方」。例如︰Our company is an idea house that presents and supports innovative performance.（我們是提供並支持創新表演的創意公司。）Beetroots are nutritional houses packed with essential vitamins and minerals.（甜菜根含豐富的維生素和礦物質。）
