Nature

三名年約60歲的婦人，竟然自稱「關愛座管理員」，追罵曾患腳傷的女學生乘港鐵時坐關愛座。讓座乃發自內心，關愛座似乎已脫離了本質（nature），變成「批鬥座」，實應考慮取消。

名詞nature本意指「大自然、自然界」。例如，the forces of nature（自然的力量）、the laws of nature（自然的法則）、one's love of nature（某人對自然界的熱愛）、found in nature（在大自然中發現）。

Nature用於形容事物，指「本質、特性、種類」，即某事物的主要特徵。例如，The nature of priority seats has changed.（關愛座的本質已經改變了。）Diving is by nature a dangerous sport.（潛水本質上是危險的運動。）Firstly, you need to determine the nature of the problem.（首先，你需要確定問題的性質。）

Nature一字用於形容人，則解「本性、性格」。例句︰It's not really in his nature to be this impatient.（他的本性並不是這樣不耐煩。）I would try to appeal to his better nature.（我會嘗試訴諸他人性中善良的一面。）
