Fugitive

政府以台灣殺人案為由，促請盡快修訂《逃犯條例》（Fugitive Offenders Ordinance），甚至將法庭「擺上枱」，聲稱法庭可以把關，觸發法律界下周舉行黑衣遊行。路透社更刊登本港三名資深法官的匿名訪問，表達他們對修例的憂慮。

看到fugitive一字以-tive為字尾，會猜fugitive是形容詞。其實，fugitive可以用作名詞或形容詞。Fugitive用作名詞時，解「逃犯、難民、逃亡者」。例句︰The Hong Kong government is considering allowing the reciprocal transfer of fugitives with mainland China, Taiwan and Macau.（香港政府正在考慮允許與中國內地、台灣及澳門的互相移交逃犯。）Thousands of fugitives fled to Canada via Detroit.（成千上萬的難民通過底特律逃往加拿大。）

Fugitive用作形容詞時，則解「短暫的、暫時的、稍縱即逝的」，尤指想法或感覺。例如，It was only a fugitive impression but it was strengthened by the hindsight of his thoughts.（那只是一個短暫的印象，事後卻被他的想法加強了。）This book is about the fugitive happiness of life.（這本書是關於生命裏稍縱即逝的幸福。）
