Unappetising

網上流傳一段車厘子被切開後，發現有白色蟲子的片段，十分誇張，令人倒胃（unappetising）。友人日前亦嘗試切開車厘子，果然有蟲，惟有丟棄。

名詞appetite解「胃口、食慾」，可以配搭形容詞good（好）、bad（差）、large（大）、small（細）、healthy（健康的）等等，動詞則可配搭give（給予）、spoil（毀掉）、reduce（降低）、suppress（壓制）等。例句︰I'm just having a bad appetite day.（我只是今天胃口不好。）Don't give your children any snack before dinner if you don't want to spoil their appetite.（如果你不想破壞孩子的食慾，不要在晚餐前給他們零食。）

形容詞appetising當然與「食慾」有關，解「開胃的、刺激食慾的」。相反，則可以加上字首un-變成unappetising，指「引不起食慾的」，食物看起來或聞起來不吸引。例句︰All of our dishes are appetising while still being healthy.（我們所有的菜餚都很開胃，同時還很健康）Street food may look unappetising but it's often delicious.（街頭食物可能看起來不開胃，但通常很美味。）
