Barrage

上星期特首林鄭舉行首場社區對話，說是要真誠溝通，但面對市民連串的批評和問題（a barrage of criticism and questions），只是再次公式化回答，實在令人失望。

Barrage原意解「彈幕」，連續發射大槍以保護士兵，向敵人推進。例如，Very few enemy soldiers survived our concentrated artillery barrages and air raids.（在我們密集的砲彈和空襲下，很少敵軍士兵倖存。）

Barrage一字可以引伸指「連珠發炮的、接二連三的」批評、投訴或質問，十分生動。常用a barrage of something，點出連珠發炮甚麼，例如，a barrage of complaints/questions/objections（連串的投訴/問題/異議）等。例句︰Our key competitor has launched a barrage of attack ads on social media targeting our core products.（我們的主要競爭對手已經在社交媒體推出了一連串攻擊廣告，針對我們的核心產品。）Carrie Lam faced a barrage of criticism at her first public dialogue for her inaction over the last few months.（林鄭在過去的幾個月無所作為，因而在首次公開對話中遭到連珠發炮的批評。）
