Overload

流感一周內奪去十命，醫院又爆滿超載（overloaded），香港已正式踏入冬季流感高峰期。

動詞load可以用解「裝載」，指「把很多東西放到車輛上或機器裏」。例句︰They loaded all the furniture onto the truck.（他們把所有傢俬都裝上貨車了。）The dishwasher saves me a lot of time. I can load everything into it and it will do the rest.（洗碗機為我節省了很多時間，我可以將所有東西放進去，它就會完成其餘的步驟。）

Load也可以用解「把資料載入電腦」。例如，It took ages to load the video onto my computer.（花費了很長時間將影片載入我的電腦。）It can take a while to load a website full of high-resolution images.（加載充滿高像素圖片的網站可能需要一段時間。）

Load加上字首over-，變成overload，則解「使超載、使負荷過重」。想點出超載甚麼，可以在overload一字後加上介詞with帶出。例句︰I think you've overloaded your phone with photos.（我認為你的手機上有太多照片。）Public hospitals are overloaded with flu patients.（公立醫院滿是流感患者。）
