Overcorrect

《私營骨灰安置所條例》實施4年，但至今只批出6個牌照，進度絕對緩慢。如此矯枉過正（overcorrect），實違背立法原意，推高了私營骨灰龕位的價錢。

動詞overcorrect一字由字首over-（過度）和字根correct（糾正）組成，合起來解「矯枉過正」。例如，Many people think the policy is so strict that it has overcorrected the situation.（許多人認為該政策過於嚴苛，以致矯枉過正。）Parents should refrain themselves from overcorrecting children's behaviour.（父母應該避免對孩子的行為矯枉過正。）

Correct一字也可以配搭字首auto-（自動），autocorrect解「自動更正」。例如，This software can autocorrect grammatical errors and misspellings.（這軟件可以自動修正文法錯誤和拼寫錯誤。）Not all movements can be autocorrected using this device.（並非所有動作都可以使用此設備自動校正。）

Correct可以用作形容詞，解「正確的」。在correct前面加上in-，就可以變成反義詞incorrect（不正確的）。例如，He got every single detail correct.（他把每一個細節都弄對了。）I'm afraid your assumptions are incorrect.（我恐怕你的假設是不正確的。）
