Risk

為了「谷針」可以去到幾盡？政府表示正考慮，一旦爆發第五波疫情，將限制未接種疫苗的市民進入學校、食肆、醫院、戲院及圖書館等高危場所（high-risk venues）。接種疫苗亦將會是市民到內地或出國旅遊必不可少的要求。

Risk可以用作名詞，解「風險」，即是「發生壞事的可能性（possibility）」。因此，跟形容possibility一樣，名詞risk可以配搭形容詞high（高）、low（低）、huge（大）、small（小）、real（真實的）等等。

例句︰The risk of getting severe side effects from the vaccine is low for healthy individuals.（對於健康的人來說，接種疫苗產生嚴重副作用的風險很低。）

There is a real risk that the virus will mutate into something deadlier.（病毒會變種得更致命的風險確實存在。）

常用語at risk和at your own risk，分別解「冒風險、處境危險」和「責任自負」。例如︰As long as we have not acquired herd immunity, the community is still at risk of another outbreak.（只要我們還沒有獲得群體免疫，社區就有再次爆發的風險。）

Some people feel that they are vaccinating against coronavirus entirely at their own risks.（有些人認為他們接種疫苗的風險需要完全由自己承擔。）
