Hopeful

袁國勇表示若市民3月前完成接種兩劑疫苗，政府可以在暑假通關，期望到了明年聖誕，社會便可以回復正常。雖然疫情已經持續兩年，但是我們仍然抱有希望（hopeful），好期待不用戴口罩。

形容詞hopeful解「抱有希望的、充滿希望的」，即是full of hope。英文有不少形容詞也是這個結構，例如，beautiful（美麗的）--full of beauty、careful（小心的）--full of care、wonderful（精采的）--full of wonder、thankful（感激的）--full of thanks、joyful（快樂的）--full of joy、useful（有用的）--full of uses。

Hopeful有3個常用的句式--to be hopeful about something、to be hopeful of something／doing something、to be hopeful that……指「對某事物抱有希望」。例句︰We are hopeful about the economy following the COVID-19 pandemic.（我們對新冠狀病毒疫情之後的經濟充滿希望。）Many people are hopeful of a successful vaccine.（許多人希望疫苗成功。）We are all hopeful that the worst of this COVID-19 pandemic is behind us.（我們都希望這場新冠狀病毒疫情最糟糕的時期已經過去。）
