International

雖然香港的航班熔斷機制已經放寬，但是每日到埗的客機仍少於20班。商界促請停止熔斷機制，讓香港保住香港國際（international）航空的樞紐地位。

International一字是由字首（prefix）inter-（之間）、字根（root）nation（國家）和字尾（suffix）-al（表示形容詞）3個部分組成，合起來解「國際的」。形容詞international常配搭名詞competition（比賽）、cuisine（美食）、market（市場）、news（新聞）、relation（關係）、trade（貿易）等等。例句︰Many companies face intense international competition nowadays.（現在許多公司都面對激烈的國際競爭。）

Diplomacy is essential to maintaining international relation between two nations.（外交對於維持兩國之間的國際關係至關重要。）

不要international的字首inter-，變成national，則解「國家的」。例如，It is truly an honour to represent the national football team.（能夠代表國家足球隊真的很榮幸。）

These historical events are worthy of celebrations on national holidays.（這些歷史事件值得於國慶節日慶祝。）

再省去字尾-al，就剩下字根nation，是名詞，解「國家」。例如，Our team are proud to represent the nation and play on the global stage.（我們的團隊很自豪能夠代表國家，並在國際舞台上發揮作用。）
