Opposition

簡約公屋從設計、造價到選址都備受爭議。當中建議於啟德新發展區加建大型簡約房屋，可能影響啟德作為本港第二個核心商業區的定位，已經有持份者表示反對（opposition）。

Opposition解「反對」，而且是「強烈的反對」（strong disagreement），屬不可數名詞（uncountable noun）。想表達反對甚麼，可以用介詞to或者against帶出。例句︰There is a lot of opposition to the proposed locations of the "light public housing" in the urban areas.（選址市區興建簡約公屋遭到很多反對。）He filed an opposition against the trademark application.（他對該商標申請提出異議。）

要加強描述反對的程度，可以配搭形容詞strong（強烈的）、fierce（猛烈的）、intense（激烈的）、considerable（相當大的）、growing（日益嚴重的）、widespread（廣泛的）等等。例句︰There has been intense opposition to the war.（強烈反對戰爭。）

The nuclear plant was built in spite of considerable opposition.（儘管有相當大的反對，還是興建了核電站。）
